Hello my LifeStyle blog readers! I wanted to tell ya’ll about my amazing getaway this past weekend. Me, my mom, my best friend and her mom decided to take a little ladies trip. We had such a fun “Mommy & Me” Fall Getaway to upstate New York where we got to experience the beginning of Fall. A time when the leaves start to turn beautiful, vibrant colors.

On our way there, we stopped at Mountain Brauhaus Restaurant for lunch. A great hidden gem that serves authentic German cuisine and seasonal specials. The seasonal drinks “Hot Spiced Cider Toddy” and “Gluhwein”, which is a hot spiced Pinot Noir, were absolutely delicious and perfect for this current weather!

We stayed at Honor’s Haven Resort in Ellenville, NY. It was perfect for a one night getaway because it was only a two hour drive away from home. We arrived about 30 minutes before check-in. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodated us by allowing early check-in before 3:00 PM. The hotel itself was a little bit outdated; however, the rooms were clean, spacious, and perfect for a quick weekend getaway! The resort was beautiful and had many amenities.

Some of those amenities included:

  • A Wellness Center with wellness classes
  • Spa and Fitness Center
  • Indoor Pool and a Seasonal Outdoor Pool
  • Indoor and Outdoor Sports including Tennis, Volleyball, and Basketball
  • Various Hiking Trails
  • Fishing and Pedal Boating on the Resort Lake
  • Beautiful Resort Landscapes to Explore
  • Campfire and Fire Pit (s’more kits were provided to each guest)
  • Some amenities might be affected due to COVID-19 (click here for more information)

After checking in, we decided to explore the resort. My friend and I did the pedal boating while the moms relaxed by the lake. The lake wasn’t that large, which was a good thing because our legs were already on fire after pedaling for only 5 minutes!

After exploring the resort, we headed back to our room to start getting ready for dinner which was set for 6:00 PM. We decided to go into the town for dinner. The town center was only about a 5 minute drive from Honor’s Haven Resort. The center town was super cute! They closed off the street so that restaurants can seat people outdoors on the road. We had reservations to Tony & Nick’s Italian Kitchen which offered stone fired pizzas, pastas and various other Italian dishes.

There are other restaurants in the area that also looked really cute:

As we sat outside, it got a bit chilly. Thankfully, there was an antique clothing store right next door. My friend and I quickly ran inside. Of course I found a cute crochet shawl (pictured above), from the 1970s, that would be useful in keeping me warm throughout the night. For my dinner outfit, I wore a long sleeve black wrap dress from Francesca’s. My dress is no longer available, so I linked some similar options above. I paired the dress with brown boots and gold jewelry. My boots are from DSW, but they’re super old so I linked similar options below.

We had a very lovely and delicious dinner. Upon returning to the resort, we changed into more comfortable clothing and went to the camp fire to have some s’mores for dessert and a nightcap 😉

The following morning we took a stroll to see the “waterfall”. It wasn’t too big, but still a beautiful sight nonetheless; especially during the autumn season.

After checking out from the hotel (check out was at 11:00am), we drove to Brooklyn Cider House at Twin Star Orchards in New Paltz, NY. It was about a 45 minute drive from the Honor’s Haven Resort. There were many groups of people at this orchard as it was their “Oktoberfest” weekend. Thankfully we arrived there at a good time and only had to wait an hour or so to get our food. Later on, the line and the wait for the food got super long! Even with so many people, everyone tried to do their best to adhere to the social distancing guidelines.

Orchards Outfit

Fall outfits at the orchards wearing a poncho, boots, and fall hat
For my day at the orchards outfit, I decided to be comfortable, yet stylish. I wore simple black leggings (such as these from Amazon), a black long sleeve shirt, and a black/gray/blush Poncho from Francesca’s ($48). To make the outfit more fashionable, I styled the poncho with a brown Gucci belt ($470) and a black fedora hat. The brown leather boots are from DSW and are super old; therefore, I’m linking a similar option- Naturalizer boots from DSW ($139.99). I paired my outfit with a simple brown wristlet and a bracelet. I purchased the wristlet at Burlington, but I found a similar option from Amazon ($11.99). It can be a wristlet or a crossbody bag. Super cute! My bracelet is a Victoria Emerson ($39). I love this neutral wrap bracelet because it pairs very well with so many different outfits!

To make this outfit a bit more budget-friendly, I found more affordable options from Amazon. First, I found the fedora hat for $17.45 and it has 4.5/5 stars! Next, I found brown boots (4.2/5 stars and only $34.95) that look very similar to my DSW boots, and Amazon has so many different color options. Additionally, I found a cute brown belt from Amazon (4.6/5 stars and $16.99). I love the double ring closure, which can totally make this outfit stylish like the double G Gucci belt! Finally, I found the cutest multi-layer wrap bracelet from Amazon (4.5 stars and $14.19). Check out the difference between my outfit board and the more budget-friendly outfit board below! The style differences in the outfit are minimal, but the price differences can be substantial.

Overall, we had an amazing weekend getaway! It was so much fun to hang out with my best friend and our moms! We were able to explore, relax, eat some good food, drink some good wine, try out tasty apple cider, and most importantly, spend quality time together. I would definitely recommend staying at Honor’s Haven Resort and visiting Brooklyn Cider House at Twin Star Orchards!
